Web Development: A Market Place

AMarketPlace.co.uk is an asset of Stolitsa Properties Ltd, a company working in the Pensions & Investments market place. We were contracted to manage, design and develop their online presentation, where the initial requirement was 'to produce a stylish website which we can manage ourselves'.

That task had to be formely broken down to few manageble and tangible deliverables, work planned and signed-off. It involved research and cost-benefit analisys to select a suitable content management system (CMS) with selection criteria to be: light (as the site will not have 1000s of pages) and simple/easy-to-use.

As with most of web development projects the design and approval phase took that 'uncertain' time to complete, as 'looks' is a very subjective matter. We had to go through several designs, even approved one and implemented it but then scrapped and re-designed to the final "maroon" version.

The development included implementation and customisation of an open-source CMS, setting-up contact forms, photo gallery, populating content and making up User Manual so that the client can manage pages independently.
