Web development. Snowvolution

This is another example of our web development work, back in 2006. The site originally was made completely in Flash, hence Search engines visibility was dreadful. It was decided to re-make it in HTML and perform some SEO to kick-start its' visibity on the search engines.

After all HTML work, to match the new site exactly as it looked in Flash, had been done, the next thing we did was to collect statistics / benchmark the sites' performance. This is necessary in order compare results of the SEO campaign with pre-campaign position and to identify improvements or otherwise.

Next was to identify competition, their strong and weak points and to agree on set of strategic keywords and phases. Often companies target keywords/phrases that are not the most frequently entered on the web. Finding out and targeting right keywords/phrases will increase number of visits. After agreeing on all points the code was adjusted and updated. 

What is SnowVolution?

The SnowVolution machine is a snow covered rotating planar disc up to 300 metres in diameter, inclined at 25 degrees, divided into 4 to 6 concentric rings each 15-30 metres wide.

The rings rotate independently in either direction at tangential speeds of up to 15 metres/per second. Adjacent rings rotate in the same direction, and with a separating static or stationary ring, the remaining rings rotate in the opposite direction. Skiers and snowboarders are spread across the whole width of the disc giving high levels of utilisation.

The 50 metre diameter centre island provides access to the slope and services including hotels, other leisure or commercial structures.
