Edinburgh Language Academy. This is another example of our web development work. The task was to refresh the aging site and to arm it with a content management system (CMS) so that owners would be able to add/edit articles as needed, without going back to developers for every little change.

After having long conversations with the Client to establish where their company is going and what image/impression they wish give to their visitors the work was split into 4 major sections: graphic design, CMS integration and customisation, deployment and content population, SEO (search engines optimisation).

The whole system features: Articles and pages publishing, editing facility; Dynamic URL rewriting; Static Pages management; Custom statuses for articles (active, pending, headline, archive); Article tools (email to a friend, print version, subscribe, etc.); Social bookmarking syndication (Digg, Del.icio, and others); WYSIWYG editor for adding content with custom advanced features for article body highlighting; Archive system for old articles; Integration with external news feeds; SE Friendly URLs; Custom META keywords/description tags; Automatic Google XML sitemap module; Full CSS layout and design; Banner management system.
