The new website represents a visually refreshed and technologically enriched
application, built on the top of a Content Management System. The content
management system allows administrators more flexible control over the website,
with easy-to-use WYSIWYG article editors. The new visual structure of the site
makes easier to navigate. New website will increase its strategic value by
encouraging people to contact UED, by providing modern and clear representation
of its offerings.
As a basis we've decided to take a commercially available  templates and CSS
driven CMS (content management system), which was then heavily
modified/customised. This is a multi-user system with various levels of access
to the back-end that will be useful for setting up contributors (writers).
Writers may submit articles (status=pending) which then have to be reviewed
and modified by editors or Admin and only they can activate those.
Banner management system provided an easy way to manipulate with internal
banner adverts, promoting key events and important messages. Articles have
several types (normal, news, events, case studies) and are being output
depending on rules. The system is based on Red hat Linux Fedora, Apache web
server, MySQL.
