TDI | Outsourcing | Edinburgh: Google Street View integration Google Street View integration ================================================================================ Marat Bekmetov on 24 April, 2009 11:50:00 We are excited to announce that we now have Google Maps Street View integrated to one of our client websites, real estate agents. This technology is featured on homes for sale and homes to let pages. Now, house hunters can "stand" on the street, in front of a house, check out the neighbors and get the real view of a neighborhood, without ever taking a trip. Recent discussions in media raised an issue of privacy in relation to Street View. But, as UK's Information Commissioner has ruled, - Google's Street View technology carries a small risk of privacy invasion but should not be stopped. One village in the UK prevented Google from taking photos of the streets. Residents of Broughton, near Milton Keynes, blocked the driver of a Google StreetView car, which captures the photos, when it tried to enter the village. - Technology is not always welcome for some. However, Google has always said its service observed UK law and that photos were only taken from public areas. The Street View technology was first launched, amidst some complaints, in the US in May 2007. We are sure that the Street View service will enhance user experience and add value to many websites, not only property related.
